Product Description

The Outdoor Vertical Type Fiber Optic Splice Closure is designed for aerial and wall-mounting applications, supporting straight-through and branching splices of fiber cables. Featuring four entrance ports on the end (three round ports and one oval port), the shell of the product is constructed from high-quality ABS material.

The shell and the base are securely sealed by pressing the silicone rubber with an allocated clamp. The entry ports are sealed using heat-shrinkable tubes. The closures can be reopened after being sealed, allowing them to be reused without changing the sealing material.

This optical splitter closure provides optimal space and protection for fiber optic cable splicing and joints. It belongs to the accommodation of the optical fiber fusion splice section system, widely applied for fiber connection, sealing, protection, installation of fiber connector heads, and storage.

Applications & Scope

  • Aerial, Direct buried, underground, pipeline, hand-holes, duct mounting, wall mounting.
  • Widely used in FTTH access networks.
  • Telecommunication networks.
  • CATV networks.

Installation Procedure

1
Saw the entry ports as needed.
2
Strip the cable as required for installation, and place the heat-shrinkable tube on.
3
Penetrate the stripped cable to the bracket through the entry ports. Fix the strength wire of the cable on the bracket using a screwdriver.
4
Fix the fibers on the entry part of the splice tray using nylon ties.
5
Place the optical fiber on the splice tray after splicing and make notes.
6
Put the dust cap of the splice tray on.
7
Sealing of the cable and the base: Clean the entry ports and 10cm of the cable with a scrubber.
8
Sand the cable and entry ports requiring heat-shrink using abrasive paper. Wipe away the dust left after sanding.
9
Wrap the heat-shrink part evenly with aluminum paper to avoid burns caused by high temperatures from the blast burner.
10
Position the heat-shrinkable tube on the entry ports, heat with the blast burner, and stop heating once tightened. Let it cool naturally.
11
Usage of branch fork: When heating the oval entry port, insert the fork into the heat-shrinkable tube to separate the two cables, and heat following the steps above.
12
Sealing: Use a clean scrubber to clean the base, the groove for the silicone rubber ring, and the silicone rubber ring itself, then place the silicone rubber ring on.
13
Place the barrel onto the base.
14
Install the clamp, and rotate the wheel to secure the base and barrel together. Fix the hanging hook as shown.
